Fioricet is
a combination of Acetaminophen, Butalbital, and Caffeine. Acetaminophen
is a pain reliever and fever reducer. Butalbital is in a class of drugs called
barbiturates that slow down your central nervous system (brain and nerve
impulses) causing relaxation. Caffeine is believed to constrict dilated blood
vessels that may contribute to tension headaches. Together, acetaminophen,
butalbital, and caffeine are used to relieve complex tension (muscle contraction)
headaches although precisely how it works is unknown.
Imitrex (Sumatriptan) is used
to treat migraine headache attacks once they occur. Imitrex is not effective
in preventing migraines. Imitrex is not to be used for other types of headaches.
Soma is a combination of Aspirin, Carisoprodol,
and Codeine. Aspirin is an anti inflammatory pain reliever, Carisoprodol
is a muscle pain relaxer, and Codeine is an analgesic pain reliever. Soma
is used, along with rest and physical therapy, to treat your injuries and
painful muscular conditions.
Tramadol is
a non-opioid prescription pain relief medication that is meant to help alleviate
moderate to moderately severe pain. Tramadol is a synthetic analgesic, not
an anti-inflammatory, which means that people who cannot take anti-inflammatories
do to their side effects, can often take Tramadol to help relieve their pain.
Tramadol is the generic of the prescription drug Ultram.
Ultracet is a unique pain
medication that combines tramadol, a leading prescription pain reliever,
and acetaminophen, the most commonly recommended over-the-counter
